In a RoSPA first, the charity has appointed a Fall Prevention Lead to boost the fight to combat falls in the home.
 

In a bid to boost its impact on fall prevention, the second biggest cause of unintentional injury deaths worldwide, RoSPA has appointed Jules Robinson as its Falls Prevention Lead. Jules most recently worked at RoSPA award winners and long-time partners, Trent & Dove, where she pioneered leading research into avoidable falls in the home.

Following the success of Jules’s work at Trent & Dove, the new role was created to strengthen and develop the falls prevention work that she has completed so far, and to ensure that RoSPA furthers its leading priority in reducing the number of deaths associated with falls.

Jules’s initial months will focus on building more relationships within the sphere and analysing where RoSPA’s work can have the most tangible impact on avoidable fall prevention and is being sponsored for two years by Berkeley Group.

Speaking on the importance of her work and her new appointment, Jules said: “It's impossible to ignore the impact that falls are having on communities and now, more than ever, there's an urgent need to implement proven risk reduction methods and cohesive fall prevention strategy.

“I'm very proud to have the opportunity to continue fall prevention work with RoSPA and hope my first-hand experience of fall prevention and the associated challenges will provide useful perspective and boost RoSPA's impact."
