Level 3 International Award for Driver Trainers (Customised Award)’.

The purpose of this International award is to support the job role of driver trainers and fleet trainers, who are required to train individuals who drive as part of their work outside of the United Kingdom. Ensuring that they are able to coach others to the highest driving standards thus reducing road traffic collisions.

Participants will learn
 
  • to coach drivers
  • assess driving standards
  • feedback an coaching conversations
  • Understand why drivers behave the way they do
  • Understand and mitigate reasons for road traffic collisions.
Entry to this Award is limited to those holding a full, valid driver’s licence that covers them to drive in the district where delivery of the training for the qualification is taking place.

Participants must be able to provide current evidence of advanced driving standards eg:
  • RoSPA International Advanced Driving Assessment
  • IAM Advanced Test
  • DIAmond Advanced Test
Or have completed an Advanced or Defensive Driving course (evidence required) with a recognised national or international driver training provider within the previous two years.
 
Participants must be able to complete an eyesight test conducted at 20.5 metres OR to meet local regulatory eye test standards if applicable.

Those who are required to train individuals who drive as part of their work outside of the United Kingdom. Such as fleet trainers or workplace driver trainers.

Both theory and practical elements that include:
  • Presentations and professional discussions to help understand the internal and external factors that affect driver behaviours.
  •  To plan and prepare a driver training session
  • To deliver a driver training session using a person-centred approach
  • To assess a driver and create a develop plan
This Award is assessed through the following activities:
  • Practical demonstrations
  • Written assignment
  • Professional discussions
  • Knowledge statements

If you do not hold a recognised advanced driving qualification, a 3 day advanced driving and an International Advanced Driving Assessment is available, to help you meet the entry requirements.

  • Trainers certified to deliver RoSPA’s Level 2 Award within organisations will improve the end-user service

  • Organisations with trainers that have passed this course can apply to become a recognised centre through RoSPA Qualifications, which will enable the delivery of our Level 2 qualification
  • Course approval or Accreditation can be purchased in addition to training which will mean your courses and/or organisation are supported with RoSPA’s stamp of approval
This course is quality assured and regulated by RoSPA Qualifications as a Customised Award. Please note this course is not on the Ofqual register of qualifications.
