Aims and objectives
To develop delegates' skills in promoting safer home environments within their client group, by developing skills and knowledge in: -
- The importance and need for home safety
- Recognising who is most at risk from home accidents and why
- The causes, consequences and related costs of home accidents
- Accident prevention measures and methods of assessing, prioritising and controlling risk
- Effective interventions and how to evaluate them
Who is the course intended for?
The role of voluntary and professional practitioners in promoting accident prevention is vital if there is to be a long-term reduction in attendance at A&E departments and GP surgeries. Home accidents can lead to unnecessary pain and suffering and to long stays in hospital. This course is designed to provide an overview of the accident problem and an insight into injury prevention in critical areas.

Prior knowledge of Home Accident Prevention is not essential as this intended to be an introductory course.

Qualification and Certification
All delegates will receive a RoSPA certificate of training on completion of the one-day course.
