Implementing Home Safety Checks - Choosing and Using Equipment

Research has shown that safety advice given directly to families and older people in their own homes can reduce accidental injury. A growing number of organisations now understand that identifying hazards and the risks to families and individuals within their own home can be more effective than the delivery of generic safety information alone. Additionally many schemes and organisations provide home safety equipment to families and older people. For these schemes to be effective in reducing accidental injury, it is essential that the correct type of equipment is provided. Changing the environment is most effective when we also change behaviour.

This one day course is accredited to RoSPA qualifications and there is an optional assessment, at no extra cost, for those delegates seeking accreditation from a nationally recognised awarding body.
