Burns and scalds are an important concern for families with children under the age of five as the injury often leads to the need for long-term medical care and scarring.
RoSPA, East Renfrewshire Council and Care of Burns in Scotland (COBIS) teamed up to research and explore the prevalence of scald injuries, and the current understanding of knowledge of scald prevention and first aid among parents in East Renfrewshire, Scotland. The research take place in 2019 and the findings reinforced the high risk of scald injuries to children in the home and the need for ongoing preventative messaging and projects in this area.
